TMR®

Total Motion Release® is a revolutionary, systemic approach to physical therapy and bodywork that prioritizes the body’s natural desire for balance. Unlike traditional methods that focus on directly treating the area of pain, TMR® looks at the body as an interconnected system. By evaluating movement restrictions across the kinetic chain, we identify where the body is holding tension and use specialized, comfortable movements to trigger a rapid neurological reset.

TMR® is based on the principle that the body is a 100% interconnected machine. A restriction in the right shoulder can often be resolved by moving the left hip or the opposite arm. This good-side approach allows us to reduce pain and increase range of motion without causing further irritation to the injured or sensitive area. It is an ideal modality for those who have found traditional deep pressure painful or ineffective for chronic, recurring issues.

Concepts unique to TMR®

  • The "Good-Side" Principle: Instead of working directly on the painful area, we find a movement that feels easy and unrestricted on the opposite side of the body to create a systemic release.

  • The Kinetic Chain: A holistic assessment that views the body in quadrants, recognizing that a limitation in one area (like the ankle) often manifests as pain in another (like the lower back).

  • The Neural Reset: TMR® uses specific motor patterns to signal the brain to let go of protective guarding, providing immediate changes in mobility.

  • Active Participation: Unlike passive massage, TMR® often involves guided, gentle movements that empower the client to understand their own body's imbalances.

  • The 0-100 Scale: A precise clinical feedback loop where we measure pain or restriction levels before and immediately after each movement set to ensure objective progress.
